Pharmacology....what the drug is going on!

If you are a nurse medication administration is a main part of your day no matter which area you are working. As an ICU nurse your entire shift may be monitoring and adjusting doses on weight-based pharmacological intervention for patient survival. In the ER your quick administration of that EPI-pen may just have saved a life. Then in the community setting you are teaching, developing plans of care, all around medication administration, and monitoring for effectiveness. You advocate, plan, teach, monitor, and support that patient in what ever setting you are working in. Pharmacology is essential in the treatment of disease, and your knowledge of this area is what is going on! Drug on RNs!
